Hopeless Geekery In The Blood

This week we had a visit from our lovely friend Kevin, who came over from Blenheim with his ginormous wheeled laboratory -- he does mobile wine, um, er, sciencey stuff with um, sciencey bits.  Don't ask me.  Anyway the point is a) it was great to see him and b) our son loved Kevin's truck (he's fond of heavy machinery, that boy) and also Kevin.

Never too early to get some practice in.

And then Kevin was forced to repeatedly read Seb's current favourite book, "Tough Trucks".  Theme anyone?

Today we went to the Hope School gala.  My boys do love a school fair.  This was a particularly awesome one because it had good country things like tractor rides and, best of all, a DIGGER RIDE IN A REAL DIGGER!  For three paltry bucks my little machine geek got to drive the digger.  With a bit of help.  He was so happy!  His face was a study.

I would say that I don't know where he gets it from but I'm ashamed to say that this was me on Friday at the RNZAF base at Woodbourne.

Oh my god what a psychotic gurning grin.  But I got to sit in a Strikemaster! On an ejector seat and everything!   And  Sioux helicopter, those teeny tiny glass bubbley things they had on MASH!

I am such a dweeb.  Sebby is doomed.
